Beginning Monday November 16, 2020 masks will be mandated in all areas of our learning environment with the exception of recess, P.E., lunch, or for students with a medical exemption signed by a physician.
Superintendent update regarding the mask mandate as of 11/13/2020:
Dear Winfield Staff and Families,
Last night the Winfield R-IV Board of Education met to discuss the new guidance issued by Governor Parson. The new guidance will allow all K-12 school districts who mandate mask wearing of students while in the learning environment to no longer have to quarantine students who have been identified as close contacts to individuals who have tested positive for COVID 19. After healthy discussion on the topic the Winfield R-IV Board of Education voted and approved to mandate masks wearing of all students while at school including while in the classroom. Students will not be required to wear masks during times of physical exertion such as recess or P.E., during lunch, or if the student has a medical exemption signed by a physician. This new mask mandate will take effect on Monday November 16, 2020. All students who have been identified as a close contact prior to Monday November 16th will still have to complete the identified quarantine time period before being allowed to return to school.
I extend my most sincere thanks and appreciation to our stakeholders and your support for our school district as we continue to navigate the COVID 19 Pandemic.
